Through My Lens: Why I’m Starting This Blog

I’m not a politician. I’m not a professor. I don’t have an advanced degree in political science.
What I do have is a voice, and like every citizen, I believe it matters.

Politics isn’t something that just happens in Washington or on cable news. It shapes our daily lives, what we pay at the grocery store, how our kids are educated, the rights we enjoy (or lose), and the way our communities thrive or struggle. And yet, too often, the conversation is dominated by pundits, party insiders, and people who don’t live the realities most of us do.

That’s why I’m starting this blog: to offer one citizen’s lens on power, policy, and people.

Here, you’ll find my thoughts on the issues that affect us all, sometimes passionate, sometimes questioning, sometimes simply trying to make sense of it all. I won’t pretend to have all the answers. What I will offer is honesty, perspective, and a willingness to wrestle with the hard questions.

Maybe you’ll agree with me. Maybe you won’t. That’s okay. My hope is that this space becomes a place where ordinary voices feel seen, where ideas are challenged respectfully, and where we can all take a step back from the noise to think about what really matters.

If you’ve ever felt like politics was too complicated, too divided, or too far removed from real life, this blog is for you.

So, here we go. One citizen’s voice, one post at a time.
